At last, I have completed all of my scheduled activities in Korea and returned safely to the United States. I am sincerely grateful that I was able to travel in peace through the prayers, love, and support of our church family.
If I were to summarize this trip to Korea in one word, it would be “Mother.” During my time there, our family took a special trip to celebrate my mother’s eightieth birthday. We also visited relatives and held a birthday celebration for her. Seeing how happy she was brought great joy to my own heart as well. It was truly a very happy and meaningful time.
I also had the opportunity to meet many people during this trip. Before leaving for Korea, I jokingly posted on social media that anyone who wanted to buy me a meal should contact me. To my surprise, many people responded, and I ended up meeting almost two groups of people each day. Even with such a full schedule, there were still many people I was unable to meet because we could not find a time that worked. I felt very sorry about that. Still, believing that there will be another opportunity, I gently promised that we would meet next time. (^_^)
Once again, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of our board members, ministry partners, and church members who made this trip possible. Strengthened by the love you have shown me, I will continue to do my very best as your pastor for the sake of God’s kingdom.
드디어 한국의 모든 일정들을 다 마치고 무사히 미국에 돌아왔습니다. 모든 성도님들의 기도와 섬김으로 평안하게 다녀 올 수 있어 진심으로 감사를 드립니다.
이번 한국 여행을 한 마디로 요약해 보면, ‘어머니’로 요약할 수 있을 것 같습니다. 실제로 한국에 가서 어머니의 팔순 기념 여행을 다녀왔고, 또 친척분들을 보시고 팔순 잔치도 열어 드렸습니다. 덕분에 어머니가 기뻐하시는 모습을 볼 수 있어 저도 덩달아 기뻤습니다. 그래서 많이 행복했습니다
그리고 또 이번 여행에서는 사람들도 정말 많이 만났습니다. 사실 한국으로 출발하기 전에 sns에농담으로 밥 사주고 싶은 분들이 있으면 연락을 달라는 말을 올렸었습니다. 그러자 정말 많은 분들이 연락을 주셨고 그래서 거의 매일 2팀씩 만나야 했습니다. 그래서 너무 배부르고 감사하고 행복한 시간도 가질 수 있었습니다. 그런데 그렇게 만났음에도 불구하고 끝까지 시간이 안 되어서 못 만났던 분들도 많았습니다. 그래서 너무 죄송했습니다. 하지만 또 다시 기회가 있을 것이라 믿고(^^) 조심스럽게 다음을 기약했습니다.
이번 여행을 허락해 주신 모든 보드 멤버분들과 또 동역자 분들과 또 성도 여러분들께 다시 한번 감사를 드립니다. 보내 주신 사랑에 힘입어 더욱 더 하나님의 나라를 위해 최선을 다하는 목사가 되겠습니다.
